Join us for a Hill Country kick-off to the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. Enjoy a fun-filled day in historic downtown area featuring live music, great food, games and other activities for children of all ages. Everyone loves a parade and our holiday lighted parade is one of the best in the State. At sundown, stake your spot along Water and Earl Garrett Streets in anticipation of this renowned event now in its 14th year, featuring approximately 100 entries representing communities, schools and civic organizations. The evening culminates with the Courthouse lighting ceremony, where music and other entertainment activities set the stage for that long anticipated flip of the switch. The Hill Country’s tallest Christmas Tree and more than 140,000 Christmas lights flood the area and are complimented by thousands of lights outlining the historic downtown buildings, Peterson Plaza and City Hall. Cap off the evening with dinner at one of downtown’s superb dining establishments. The festival, parade and lighting ceremony are the first of many holiday events. Start a family tradition of your own . . . stay in one of our excellent hotels, dine in our restaurants, visit our merchants and enjoy your favorite Christmas activities in Kerrville.
